Biometric security has become major part of smartphone security. Fingerprint sensors has getting improve day by day to give better experience. As you know Iphone X has remove fingerprint sensor since there is no more home button to place it. As an alternative they put facial recognition system. So what about Samsung. They never removed it. Put it in back. Does it mean we are going to loose fingerprint sensor. No one able to integrate fingerprint sensor on display or screen. So who was able to do it and if so what is the first phone to have such technology.
Synaptic did it. Synaptic's clear ID sensor was able to accurately read fingerprint sensor on phone. Announced a few weeks back, the Clear ID fingerprint sensor is capable of accurately reading a fingerprint through an OLED display panel. According to Synaptics, the sensor illuminates and reads the crests of the fingerprint, and this would not be possible with an LCD.. It is a good news for Samsung. Because Samsung is a big fan of using AMOLED on their display. So you can have smartphone with minimum bezels with fingerprint sensor on front. How awesome is that.
Synaptic's first partnership to use it's latest clear id fingerprint sensor is Vivo. They brought its unannounced phone packing the new technology to CES 2018. So first phone to have under the display finger print sensor is Vivo. But remember all credit should goes to Synaptics. Because they developed the in-display fingerprint sensor.
Demo phone out there with fingerprint sensor is slow compared to capacitive fingerprint sensor or fingerprint sensor you used before. There are more point goes to clear id sensor. Because this type of sensor is more accurate than a capacitive sensor when it comes to things such as wet hands.
Vivo X20 Plus UD - first in-display fingerprint smartphone.
At CES 2018 Vivo has announced smartphone with in-display fingerprint scanner. We hope this phone has has specs as regular vivo X20 Plus. The vivo X20 UD will come with 6.43” screen with Full HD+ resolution with OLED display.
